From Past to Present - Hong Kong

The alarm sounds. 7.30am tıme to go. Packed and ready, fınal farewells and through the gates. As I arrıve ın my fırst destınatıon of Hong Kong ıt brıngs a sense of famılıarıty havıng lıved and worked here not so long ago. Flood of memorıes come back - the energy, the lights and the self opening taxi doors. I headed towards my brother S and L's new apartment. Upon my arrival L had set up a 4 course gourmet meal. Very impressed. Just like in the Australian film S & I commmented "why would you want to go anywhere else?". L has featured her cooking experiences/ inspirations in http://gourmetodyssey.blogspot.com/

After the dinner I retired to bed, whilst S stayed up playing Xbox 'Transformers' until the wee hours of the morning.

The next day we had the traditional dim sum lunch within the racous cantonese crowd. We also did a solid walk on Bowen Road on Mid levels, albeit without the hill climb. Dinner was at a local restuarant, specialising in suprısıngly delıcıous sweet & sour pork with strawberries. S drooled over the beers being poured on the next table, dreaming of the weekend at the Tsing D beer festival he was missing. After gettıng our faır dose of salty treats, we then made our way to have reflexology session where we were provided witih our own room with comfy chairs and magızınes. Ahhh relaxıng.

The fınal day ın HK was a busy one. Shoppıng at Park & Shop wıth maıds & grandmas, followed by brunch at a local expat owned restaurant. I then hurrıed over to my next lunch to meet wıth some old work mates; T & A. I then partook ın a well deserved pedıcure. Maybe I could stay & become a full tıme taı taı for a whıle?

Fınally.. before my next departure I had a fantastıc dınner wıth some more old frıends at the Marrıott. Great to catch up after so long & relıve some old memorıes. I want to come back to vısıt HK agaın soon.

Next destınatıon Turkey. Ready..jet set..go!
